Job Description
Mid to Senior Level - Life Sciences Patent Agent
Our client is a major international firm, seeking an experienced biotech and life sciences Patent Agent. The preference is for Atlanta; however, the firm will consider other offices, including Denver, Raleigh, San Francisco, Seattle, Walnut Creek, Washington DC, or Winston-Salem. The salary for this position is between $160k to $270k.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of patent prosecution experience related to Biology, Biotechnology, and Life Sciences.
- Degree in life sciences -- biology, molecular biology, or related degree is required. Advanced degree is preferred; however, it is not required.
- Knowledge in molecular biology is considered a preference.
- Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong academic credentials.
- All candidates must be authorized to work in the US.

Kate joined Marina Sirras & Associates in 2011. She is a national legal recruiter, specializing
in the placement of partners, counsel, and associates in all practice areas, including:
- Intellectual Property – lawyers and patent agents (patent prosecution, IP litigation,
trademark, and technology/life sciences transactional roles) - Corporate lawyers (funds, capital markets, M&A, securities, and finance)
- Litigation lawyers (commercial, securities, and arbitration)
Clients include major international law firms, midsized general practice firms, specialty boutique
firms, and corporations. Prior to recruiting, Kate worked as a legal assistant for several law
firms, including Pennie & Edmonds, a former intellectual property firm in New York City. She
earned a B.S. in Human Resource Management.
